A Sherwood Park, AB Home Renovations company is looking for an experienced carpenter to join their busy team! This individual will be responsible for general carpenters construction, erect, install, maintain and repair structures and components of structures made of wood, wood-substitutes and other materials.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rough and detailed work requiring high level of carpentry skills
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials
- Fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Journeyman carpenter, having successfully completed the apprenticeship program
- Minimum 5 years experience in carpentry
- Able to work well alone - as well as with others
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in cramped areas or at considerable heights
- Willingness to work outside at various times of the year
- Strong math and computation skills pertaining to carpentry work
- The stamina to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Must be in good physical condition to carry materials
- Valid driver's license and a clean DA
