Professional Speaking, Presentation, or Workshop Facilitation is aimed at anyone who finds it hard to make conversation at gatherings, company meetings, training meetings, and social events, and wants to improve their speaking and presentation skills in informal and formal situations.

This one day course will help participants find the confidence and the skills to interact with others and to speak in front of small to medium sized groups.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Communicate effectively & speak under pressure

• Edit conversations while speaking

• Understand facilitating and facilitating styles

• Identify different communication and leadership styles during a facilitation

• Profession presentation:  Presenting at meetings, mastering a meeting, gaining your audience and dealing with the difficult participants (whom you’d rather not have in your group!)

The easiest way to deal with difficult people is to stay as far away from them as you can, suggests Robert Bramson Ph.D., organizational psychologist, management consultant with Bramson Gill Associates, and author of Coping with Difficult People.

Great advice for those who work by themselves at home; it’s a doable option, but the vast majority of us simply can’t avoid interactions with a wide range of personality types, including some who are inconsiderate, stubborn, incorrigible, inappeasable, indecent, or downright sleazy. In fact, victory over the difficult person often depends on your ability to work well with all the above.

This workshop examines personality influences and why different people behave in different ways, helping you to understand the causes of difficult behaviour, and tackle conflict management techniques with the difficult person.  Dealing with difficult people requires openness, discipline, and creativity, and you will learn strategies to help you manage difficult situations in productive ways, learning when and how to use these techniques to make you more effective in all your relationships.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Recognize how your own attitudes and actions impact on others.
  • Find new and effective techniques for dealing with difficult people.
  • Develop coping strategies for dealing with difficult people and difficult situations.
  • Identify those times when you CAN walk away from a difficult situation.
  • Learn some techniques for managing and dealing with anger.
